Excelling beyond earth
Silhouette has accompanied astronauts on space missions for more than 20 years. There is no greater vindication for design excellence and unparalleled comfort than being chosen as the official eyewear of astronauts. Since the year 2000, Titan Minimal Art (TMA) has been guaranteeing clear vision for a leading space agency.
We look at the history of Silhouette in space.

Silhouette celebrated 20 years of TMA with a special edition. Head designer Roland Keplinger looked to the sketches of the original model for inspiration and created four stylish sunglass designs. In February 2000, TMA became the standard eyewear on Space Shuttle missions and continued to prove itself in practice. Zero gravity and pressure conditions can affect the eyes, meaning expert eyewear is required – even by astronauts who don’t wear any on Earth.
